 Dear ONNY Patrons,
Power, beauty, and elegance. Vision, hard work, and support. Music
Director Ken Andrews has embodied these for the past twenty-four
years and continues to set the pace as we head into this twenty-fifth
season. His vision has inspired and mobilized the efforts of many
to provide our region with a cultural gem in the form of quality
orchestral music and we are especially grateful that so many of you,
our patrons, have chosen to support us in so many ways for so many
years. That, in the end, is what allows us to keep the music playing.
We trust you will find the programs designed by Maestro Andrews
for the coming season to be appealing and enriching. Your support
in the form of ticket purchases is the first and foremost indication that we are on the
right path, and puts us in a favorable position to pursue grant monies. This aspect of
financial support is increasingly important and is an area on which we are taking focused
action. The third part of the equation is in the area of donor support. To those who
have given in the past, and to those who can continue or start to contribute, we are most
appreciative. You will find a number of opportunities to exercise that option by looking
through this season brochure.
As you might imagine, sustaining an orchestra financially in the current economic climate presents its challenges. How fortunate we are that our artistic personnel and production
staff are committed to maintaining and building upon the tradition of quality that has
been established over two and a half decades. How fortunate we are to enjoy the kind
of support that you as patrons demonstrate, so that we may all, in turn, enjoy this very
special experience of live orchestral music. How fortunate we are to be Alive at 25!
